THE WORLD OF WONDER

by J. Christine Lamb

Cosmic Self-Exploration

FOR THE CURIOUS SPIRIT

JC3Q2.jpg

Hi! I'm JC.

Welcome to my World of Wonder!

Here, I offer messages of love and unity, with a heaping dose of practicality, to implement the wisdom of the macro into our own little microcosm.

This adventure stems from my personal studies of astrology, spirituality and philosophy.

I am inspired by everything from ancient mythology to modern day psychology and esotericism.

As a student, teacher and practitioner, it is my intention to share the wealth while I enjoy this ride we call 'life'.

I welcome you to join me on this journey of self exploration and discovery.

May every step bring you closer to home

where you are your very own World of Wonder!

Are you ready to ignite the power within your natal stars?

"I wonder

how the world will spin, with an empowered species as it's kin.

I wonder how bright your smile will be, when you have a conversation with a tree.

I wonder how much love your heart will hold, when you know the power left untold.

I wonder what magic you will cast, when you have no comprehension of  'coming in last'.

I wonder why we kick and scream, when everyone we meet is just you and me.

I wonder when we release our grasp and shine a light on the shadows of our past.

I wonder when we live in sacred unity and transcend our holy density.

I wonder just who you'll see, when you embody

your sovereignty."

The Wonder of Astrology

Many ancient civilizations admired the stars; and a select few recorded their movement. The dance of the starry sky was honored and revered. Eclipses and conjunctions were omens. The phases of the Moon told a story, and influenced the tide. The Sun was worshiped as "God" for thousands of years. The planets are living "bodies of knowledge", with talents and secrets and stories to share.

It was noticed by Mesopotamians around 3000 BC that there were 5 stars 'wandering' with the Sun and the Moon. It is this observation that led to the 7 personal planets in Astrology. Personal planets are defined by the fact that they are observable to the naked eye. The word "planet" is Greek for sky "wanderer". Babylonians were the first known astronomers, calculating the movement of the planets through the contellations with minutes and seconds. Their ability to foreshadow planetary placements lead to our first mathematical system. They also named each of the 12 constellations; most are represented by animal totem. Later, Greek influence described the zodiac as the 'animal circle' (zodiakos kyklos). Inspired by the Babylonian system, the Greeks developed much of what we know to be modern astrology, naming astrology and astromony after the Greek word for star, “asteri.” The ancient Greeks, that were known for their logical way of thinking, were skeptical about astrology and wondered about many things, such as why animals weren't ruled by the same cosmic powers as humans. Eventually, the synchronicites became too frequent to ignore. With natural disasters and cataclysmic events aligning with the movement above, the planets began to earn the respect they deserve.

India has it's own system of star study known as 'Jyotish', or Vedic Astrology. In India, Astrology has never lost it's appeal. No life event will take place without a chart being observed and approved. Marriage and compatability is considered by planetary placements before a wedding venue is booked.

As we moved through "The Iron Age" or "The Age of Reason", most civilizations began to lose sight of the stars and their influence on our daily lives. However, the stars continue to move and evolve, just as humanity does too. The "Age of Aquarius" is upon us; we are each finding our own unique gifts that serve to benefit the whole of humanity. Astrology offers us a sincere insight into where we've been, where we are, and where we are going.

May the stars light the way.

Tarot Readings

Tarot is a Hollywood script for communing with your spirit guides; there are Kings and Queens, Warriors and Lovers, Philosophers and Fools deep intuition and animal instinct, and everything in between. With their own individual nature and symbolism, the cards tell a story through energy, imagery, elements and numerology.

What is at the heart of your reading?

It's said that The Tarot was created in the 15th Century for the entertainment of royal families. Some say that story is a ruse to deter the masses from it's power. Others propose that the Tarot landed in Europe in the 13th Century with Islamic settlers. The Italian "tarocchi" became very popular, and quickly spread throughout Europe. Occult practictioners began to see esoteric truths and rites-of-passage in the symbolistic imagery of the cards. Some storytellers even postulate that the Tarot was read by Egyptians as "hieroglyphical keys to life". Their origin holds plenty of mystery that remains open to interpretation to this day. Reading after reading, each card has been imprinted with hundreds, if not thousands, of years of energetic influence. Today, mystics, tellers and curious folks alike, continue to use the Tarot as a medium between human and spirit. The Tarot gives the voice of intuition center stage from all seats in the theater.

“For Longing

God longs for you.”

- John O'Donohue

Blessed be the longing that brought you here
And quickens your soul with wonder.

May you have the courage to listen to the voice of desire
That disturbs you when you have settled for something safe.

May you have the wisdom to enter generously into your own unease
To discover the new direction your longing wants you to take.

May the forms of your belonging— in love, creativity, and friendship
Be equal to the grandeur and the call of your soul.

May the one you long for long for you.

May your dreams gradually reveal the destination of your desire.

May a secret providence guide your thought & nurture your feeling.

May your mind inhabit life with the sureness

with which your body inhabits the world.

May your heart never be haunted by ghost-structures of old damage.

May you come to accept your longing as divine urgency.

May you know the urgency with which
